Țările de Jos – Autoritatea de reglementare olandeză va fi temporar indulgentă cu bingo online

By - 5 mai 2020

Dutch gambling regulator Kansspelautoriteit (KSA) is casting a ‘lenient’ eye on online bingo during the Covid-19 pandemic. Despite operators of games of chance with a cash prize being required to hold a license, the KSA said it was ‘comfortable’ with online bingo at the current time.

“The KSA recognises that in these times of Coronavirus, there are initiatives to give people a fun pastime to help them in their isolation without having to leave home,” the regulator said. “These games are often organised by people with a good heart. In view of the special circumstances, the KSA has decided to be temporarily lenient in these cases. Obviously, that courtesy stops as soon as bingo is organised to earn money or scam people. In other words, if people see their opportunity to take advantage of the current situation. The Ksa has seen a large increase in the number of bingo sites that being offered online with the aim of taking people out of their isolation.”

It added it would keep an ‘extra sharp eye’ on bingo organised for commercial reasons or where people are cheated.
